Bachelor of Arts Degree, University of Texas, 1968; Peace Corps volunteer in Uttar Pradesh, India, from 1969-1972; Doctor of Jurisprudence, University of Texas, 1976; private practice of law from 1976 to the present, specializing in probate, estate planning and real estate. Served as President of the Williamson County Bar Association 1983-1984.
Served as member and Chairman of the State Bar of Texas 8C Grievance Committee from July 1984 to June 1990. Member of the Philanthropy Southwest since 1999 to present. Member of Grace Episcopal Church, Georgetown, TX. Served on Board of Directors of Georgetown Health Foundation 2009 – 2016.
President of W. D. Kelley Foundation from 2000 to present. Married to Sandy C. Illig. Father of Elizabeth Illig Meadows and Carl Illig. Grandfather to Katelyn Illig.
