Carl Illig

Carl Illig, a lifelong resident of Central Texas, has been deeply rooted in community service and leadership from a young age. His early experiences in Boy Scout Troop 405, where he served as Senior Patrol Leader and was honored with the Leadership Award in 2000, laid the groundwork for a lifetime of community involvement.

A 2001 graduate of Georgetown High School, Carl ventured into the technology field, earning an Associate of Applied Science in Network Administration. His career took a significant turn in 2013 when he joined the W.D. Kelley Foundation, first as the Associate Executive Director and then, in 2018, stepping into the role of Executive Director.

Carl’s commitment to education and community service is evident in his active participation in various local educational initiatives. He currently serves on the Board of Community Montessori School, Georgetown ISD Education Foundation, and the Jarrell ISD Education Foundation. His expertise and dedication extend beyond these roles as he assists numerous other education foundations across Williamson County. His past contributions include serving as President of Goodwater Montessori School Board.

Carl is a BoardSource Certified Non-Profit Board Consultant. He enjoys assisting various Organizations in Central Texas with strategic planning and matters of Governance.

Apart from his professional and volunteer work, Carl enjoys the performing arts and shares this passion with his family. He, alongside his wife Shannon and daughter Katelyn, has been involved in numerous productions at the Georgetown Palace Theatre, including memorable performances in “Spamalot,” “Tarzan,” “Beauty and The Beast,” “The Little Mermaid,” “Legally Blonde,” and “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.”
